On Friday, 1 August 2025, the Deputy Minister of National Defence Thanasis Davakis attended the oath-taking ceremony of the new Enlisted Army Professional Soldiers, held at the Armour Training Centre – New Recruits Training Centre in Avlonas, Attica.
The ceremony was also attended by Chief/HAGS, Lieutenant General Georgios Kostidis, the Director of HAGS/Armour Directorate Brigadier General Aristeidis Kavarlingos, the Commanding General of the Armour Training Centre Brigadier General Konstantinos Kossioris, representatives of the other branches of the Armed Forces, as well as relatives and friends of the Professional Soldiers.
A total of 875 Professional Soldiers took the oath, including 620 men and 255 women.
Upon conclusion of the ceremony, Mr Davakis stated:
“This day is a milestone for the new enlisted Professional Soldiers who are incorporated in the ranks of our Armed Forces.
Today, they did not only take the standard oath to the Country, they took an oath to themselves as well: to serve with devotion, ethos and professionalism, the transformation and upgrade of our Armed Forces, which is in process.
