On Friday 2 May 2025, the Minister of National Defence Nikos Dendias, accompanied by the Deputy Minister of National Defence Thanasis Davakis, welcomed the United Arab Emirates’ Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, Dr. Sultan Bin Ahmed Al Jaber at the Ministry of National Defence.
During the meeting, the two Ministers reached an agreement to further strengthen the defence ecosystems (ELKAK – EDGE) of both countries and to establish a long-term partnership, within the framework of broader strategic defence cooperation between Greece and the UAE.
The meeting was attended by the Chief HNDGS General Dimitrios Choupis, the Director General of the General Directorate for Defence Investments and Armaments Major General Ioannis Bouras, the Director General of the General Directorate for Defence Policy and International Relations, Ambassador (ret.) Michail Spinellis, the CEO of ELKAK Pantelis Tzortzakis and competent staff officers of the Armed Forces.
