Upon decision of the Deputy Minister of National Defence Mr Giannis Kefalogiannis, three (3) soldiers, graduates of the Medical School, are assigned for the medical cover of the Regional General Purpose Clinic of Fournoi and the Regional Clinic of Aghia Roumeli, following a pertinent request of the Ministry of Health.
Specifically, until September 2025, two (2) soldier doctors are assigned to the Regional General Purpose Clinic of Fournoi and one (1) soldier doctor to the Regional Clinic of Aghia Roumeli to cover the Samaria Canyon as well.
The period of the fulfilment of the service of the above soldiers at the aforementioned positions is acknowledged as time of fulfilment of the obligation of the service in the rural areas as well.
The above soldiers are entitled, from the date of their duty in the said positions, in addition to the anticipated wages by the Ministry of National Defence, to the provided by the Ministry of Health monthly wages of the doctors in rural areas and the compensation for the performed shifts, which pays them from the credits included in its budget.
The Deputy Minister of National Defence Mr Kefalogiannis stated:
