On Monday 11 September 2017, the Alternate Minister of National Defence Dimitris Vitsas visited the ΝΑΤΟ, ALLIED MARITIME COMMAND (MARCOM) in Northwood – Great Britain, where he was received by the Commander Vice Admiral Clive CC Johnstone. During the meeting, issues of the alliance were discussed and the importance and role of Greece were stressed. During the visit to the Command’s facilities which followed, the Alternate Minister of National Defence was briefed by the Command’s staff officers and he also met with the Greek detachment there. In the afternoon of the same day he visited the Archbishop of Thyateira, Great Britain and Ireland Gregorios. On Tuesday 12 September 2017 he is visiting the DSEI exhibition (Defence and Security Equipment International) in London.
