The Deputy Minister of National Defence Alkiviadis Stefanis visited the Evros Prefecture, the Area of Responsibility of D’ Army Corps, on Holy Monday and Holy Tuesday, 26 & 27 April 2021.

He moved across the borders, visiting Formations, Units and Surveillance Outposts, aiming to be briefed on the current activities and exchange wishes with the personnel.

He successively visited the XVI Mechanised Infantry Division, the “DILOFOU” Surveillance Outpost of the 21^st Tactical Command, the “PRASINIS PORTAS” Surveillance Outposts 1, 2, 5 of the 3^rd Mechanised Brigade and the “GEFYRAS PYTHIOU” Surveillance Outpost of the 30^th Mechanised Brigade. Furthermore, he visited the “MAVROU OGOU” Surveillance Outpost of the 50^th Mechanised Brigade, as well as the premises of the “PLAGION” Surveillance Outpost of the 7^th Mechanised Brigade and the “GEFYRAS KIPON” Surveillance Outpost of the 31^st Mechanised Brigade.

Furthermore, he went to the Poros village in the Evros prefecture, where he was briefed on the development of the works for the border deterrent obstacle (Stockade), in the context of his jurisdiction.

Finally, he visited the HQ of the ΧΙΙ Mechanised Infantry Division, in Alexandroupoli.

The Deputy Minister of National Defence ascertained the high morale and the immediate readiness of the personnel defending the borders of Evros.
