On Good Saturday, 4 May 2024, the Minister of National Defence Nikos Dendias visited the Surveillance Outposts in the area of responsibility of the 95 Higher National Guard Battalion Command, in the insular complex of Megisti, accompanied by the Chief of Hellenic National Defence General Staff, General Dimitrios Choupis, the Commander of Supreme Military Command of Interior and Islands, Lieutenant General Emmanouil Theodorou and the Commander of the 95 Higher National Guard Battalions Command, Major General Emmanouil Chatzis.
Initially, Mr Dendias visited the Surveillance Outpost of Strongyli, where he attended the Easter Mass in the Holy Church of St Nikolaos. The Minister exchanged wishes with the officers and soldiers and thanked them for their service to the Country.
Subsequently, Mr Dendias went to the Surveillance Outpost of Ro, where he also exchanged wishes with the officers and soldiers serving there.
During his visit, the Minister of National Defence laid a wreath at the monument to the “Lady of Ro”, Despoina Achladioti.
Following the above, Mr Nikos Dendias went to Megisti, where he was received by the Mayor Nikos Asvestis and will attend the Easter Mass tonight, at the Holy Church of Saints Constantine and Helen.
