Today, Monday 2 March 2026, the Minister of National Defence Nikos Dendias convened a new meeting at the Chiefs of General Staff Council hall in order to assess the developments in the broader Middle East. It was confirmed that all prescribed protocols have been put into effect and that all the necessary security measures provided for have been taken.
The Minister of National Defence decided that the meeting will take place on a daily basis at 08:00.
The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Minister of National Defence Thanasis Davakis, the Chief of Hellenic National Defence General Staff, General Dimitrios Choupis, the General Secretary of the Ministry of National Defence Antonios Ikonomou, the Chief of Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Georgios Kostidis, the Chief of Hellenic Navy General Staff, Vice Admiral Dimitrios – Eleftherios Kataras HN, the Chief of Hellenic Air Force General Staff, Lieutenant General (HAF) Dimosthenis Grigoriadis, the Director of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff E Branch (Intelligence), Major General Emmanouil Chatzis, and general officers.
Mr. Dendias continues his telephone conversations with his counterparts in allied countries.
