National Liberation Struggle 1955-1959. The Deputy Minister was received by the Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus in the Hellenic Republic Stavros Avgoustidis.

Wreaths were subsequently laid at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

Mr. Davakis, following the end of the event, stated the following:

It has been 71 years since the day when the National Organisation of Cypriot Fighters started the liberation struggle against the British.

This struggle had a price in blood, destruction, and sacrifices, yet the “Imprisoned Graves”, where the children of that struggle are resting, will always have a place in the minds and hearts of every Greek!”
